Project Overview
The lawn repurposing project is currently in its beginning stages, gathering support from environmental organizations on campus like the Davis Rewilding Society and coordinating with the Arboretum to develop a plan to transform underutilized lawns on campus into more sustainable alternatives.
What is Native Spaces working on?
Our plans for the year are to create and execute a plan to turn at least one underused lawn on campus into a sustainable, native alternative space. We hope to reach this goal by working closely with the Arboretum and the many committed faculty and students on campus who are passionate about increasing biodiversity and reducing water use in our green spaces.
The Native Plants team is lead by Leo Hecht and is composed of EPPC commissioners.
